This winter transfer market is typically a time of feverish rumour and possible big-money transfers. Numerous prominent stars are being connected to transfers out of their current teams. We examine some of the major names who might be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite Ghana's failure to qualify for the AFCON, which has kept the player available, it appears a significant move is imminent. This Bournemouth attacker has a contract featuring a £65 million release clause applicable for a brief period in early January. Latest reports suggest the Premier League champions look to have won the race for his signature. Other interested parties like Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have moved on to other targets, leaving teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a late move.

Marc Guéhi

This English centre-back has excel for Crystal Palace this season a previous move to Liverpool falling through. With his deal due to expire in the close season, this represents the London club's last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. Numerous top clubs, such as Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly hold an interest. Yet, a January departure is considered difficult, especially given the coach's dependence on the defender.

B. Johnson

The Welsh forward has had first-team opportunities limited at Spurs this campaign. Despite being the club's top scorer the previous campaign, Johnson has begun just a small number of Premier League games. Reports suggest the North London club would be open to a transfer for the correct valuation, thought to be in the around £40 million. Rúben Neves

This Portuguese midfielder could be set for a comeback to the English top flight after a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Still only twenty-eight, and with his agreement ending in the summer of 2026, he represents a potential opportunity. Teams such as Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the player. Additionally, there are suggestions from Spain that he would be willing to take a pay cut for a switch to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This experienced Germany shot-stopper finds himself as third-choice at Barcelona following the coach Flick. After fallen out of favour and undergone an operation, a winter departure looks highly likely. Villa were once linked as a possible suitor, but that move now appears off. Instead, interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly expressing curiosity in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

This proven England centre-forward has kept scoring frequently in the Middle East. Coming back to the Premier League might enhance his dwindling chances of making the England squad. But, securing a transfer presents significant hurdles. Al-Ahli are reluctant to sell him, and his reported enormous salary render any agreement difficult. This highly-rated Turkish forward has been in fine form for the Italian giants this season. With his existing deal running down, many English clubs – including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham – are keeping tabs on the developments. The Turin club are eager to secure the youngster to a new long-term agreement but are in a race to keep one of the continent's most promising prospects.

Kees Smit

The highly-touted Dutch teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his playing style. Following starring at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar first team. This teenager is heavily expected to complete a major transfer this month. Newcastle reportedly are frontrunners, but could face stiff rivalry from the Spanish champions for a signing valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
